ABOUT SANTORELLI HOCKEY DEVELOPMENT
The foundation of Santorelli Hockey Development centres around explosive and dynamic training - which is why we place a high emphasis on multi-directional and explosive movements in all aspect of our skill development coaching. We believe change of speed, change of direction through skating, stick-handling and shooting patterns are essential for performing at your best. Whether coaching shooting, stick-handling or skating techniques we are firm believers that players must be able to effectively move in order to be dominant at any level.
Mike was born and raised in Burnaby, British Columbia and played his youth minor hockey for the Burnaby Winter Club. From a young age, Mike was known as a player who excelled offensively with an explosive attack style of game which evolved throughout his career.
Mike played his junior hockey in the BCHL for both the Langley Hornets and the Vernon Vipers. During his time in the BCHL he recieved an athletic scholarship to Northern Michigan University, was named a league all-star and was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
During his three seasons at Northern Michigan University Mike was named to the CCHA All-Rookie team, CCHA First Team All-Star and was selected as an All-American in his Junior season. At the conclusion of his junior season, Mike signed his first professional contract with the Nashville Predators.
Mike’s professional career began with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League, the minor-league affiliate of the Nashville Predators. In his second season in the AHL Mike was selected to participate in the American Hockey League All-Star game. Mike’s professional career consisted of ten seasons and over 400 NHL career games. Mike was a former NHL 20-goal scorer with the Florida Panthers. He also played for the Nashville Predators, Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Anaheim Ducks during his NHL career.
Mike’s passion for hockey has now shifted to coaching and player development in the Greater Vancouver region. As a coach and mentor he finds passion in helping hockey players evolve and taking their games to new levels of success.
Born and raised in Burnaby British Columbia, Mark grew up playing hockey for the prestigious Burnaby Winter Club. Mark was known as a creative, offensively minded player with exceptional hockey intelligence that continued to evolve throughout his career.
Mark's junior career began in the BCHL where he was a key member of the Burnaby Express team that won the 2006 RBC National Junior A Championship. Mark then spent two successful seasons playing for the WHLs Chilliwack Bruins. During his time in Chilliwack, Mark would become a WHL All-Star, Bobby Clarke recipient as the league's top scorer and ultimately getting drafted in the 4th round by the Nashville Predators.
Following his junior career, Mark played professionally for 8 seasons. Three of which he played for the Nashville Predators American Hockey League affiliate the Milwaukee Admirals where he played alongside his older brother, Mike for parts of two seasons. After his time in Milwaukee, Mark spent five seasons playing in Europe. Two years in Sweden and three years playing in the Austrian Hockey League where he would win a National Championship playing for the Bolzano Foxes.
Upon retiring, Mark began coaching at the Burnaby Winter Club. This is where Mark's passion for teaching and mentoring young hockey players grew. Currently Mark is the Associate Head Coach for the Burnaby Winter Club Hockey Academy U18 team.
